The SAM nears PLD level of completion...

Another day and my SAM moves another step closer to completing the overall goal. To get it to a similar level of power that my PLD currently resides. Of course, it will never be nearly as powerful as my PLD since, unless something better for PLD comes out, I won't be trading in my Knight's Earring for a Bushanomimi and I won't be trading in my Sattva for a Rajas. The only chance that I would ever replace my Knight's Earring is in the event that SOMEHOW I got sucked into PLD/NIN and had to replace it with a Loquacious Earring... Just looking at my SAM I've already sunk more gil into it then I ever care to admit XD

Pretty good so far I think. I'm currently NOT at a 6 hit build on my SAM unfortunately. I don't really have any store TP currently built into my TPing set. It's mostly ACC at this point to make sure I actually HIT the mob as opposed to miss it. There is a small amount of haste in there too but nothing over the top yet, mainly relying on Hasso to help drop my delay. Now, here is the stuff I should be able to REASONABLY attain by around years end...

I've got a bit of a ways to go and I REALLY need to do some farming...The Hagun and Triump Earring combined are going to surpass 3mil and the Hagun continues to go up in price, to my dismay...As seen here ; ;. I think my only chance is to get a discounted one or hope the price plumets back down to a mil like it once was. I did the ENM with my Salvage group and I know the first couple are going to building up the LS bank for that (making an LS bank to help people like me uncurse Salvage gear, specifically bodies at a HUGE 10mil/body o.O) and then there was discussion of selling other ones to members for like half price or something. I don't know if I can count on it but hopefully...

Oh...my...god!

I'll make another post sometime soon about everything that's been going on with me but right now something far more important has happened...

So, thanks to ultimage I figured out that MEGAUPLOAD has a time every day where registered users can get the peek of the premium users. To be premium it's like $40 a year or something like that. Premium users get no wait time on their downloads, get fast speeds because they have access to a downloader, and can download an unlimited amount. Most anime sites will link to files hosted on MEGAUPLOAD. Without the premium access you can usually only download like 1 anime episode at a time and then have to wait like 3 hours before you can get more. Well, with this new ability I have found I just download like a madman from 9pm till about 3am. Recently, I found out about Hellsing Unlimited. 4 OVA episodes about one of my favourite animes! Hellsing!

So, I started to re-download ALL the Hellsing episodes and I've got like half of them right now. The weird thing is that they aren't subbed. Usually anime from big sites is subbed. But these aren't... I know what you're thinking: "OMG! DUB! RUN AWAY!" But! This is one of those rare instances where it's actually good...In fact, I put it up with Trigun as one of my favourite dubbed animes. It's one of those animes that realizes: "Hey! The characters in this Anime live in and are, British! Perhaps we should hire voice actors who are, themselves, British!" And so they did...and so it turned out awesome! As opposed to when an Anime is set in, say, Japan and they decide to hire North American voice actors instead of Japanese voice actors who know English so that the accent still comes across. I wish they would do that...instead of just randomly having a bunch of people in Japan with PERFECT North American accents...

While I'm at it! They need to actually hire kids to play the roll of kids! Not 30 year olds pretending to be 15. I know that kinda thing is what ruined the Gundam Seed Destiny dub for me...

First lets start with a partial picture dump in order to clear out my windower screenshots folder!

Not totally sure why he wanted me to take a screenshot...
Galka are actually just snap together lego men! Only reason I can explain the new swimsuit dat...
Sarutabaruta, not built for Galkan kind.
Wulgaru (ZNM) has a low chance to do this but when he does he can't damage us!

NEXT! I have started to do a good amount of meriting on my SAM. I want to max out it's merits (since outside of windshire the community hates PLDs) and then work on the rest of my PLD merits. A couple days back I got invited to a Greater Colibri burn PT. Our tank first voke had the stupidest provoke macro I've seen in awhile. He's lucky the call was wrong...But, it's hard to be mad at over 22k/hr. It went really well and we stayed for a good amount of time. We had a bunch of JPs in the PT so eventually they had to call it to goto sleep/work/whatever but we managed to get to chain 200! I got 6 merits outta the PT (I started with 1) so that allowed me to continue the upgrading of my SAM.

I decided on Thursday that I would show up for Dynamis. We were scheduled for Beaucedine but that got taken by another shell so we went to do Bastok instead. Before we went in though the VS members off the shell got pulled away to go watch RZero kill KV for some reason, apparently you need an entire shell to get ToD? But after that was all done we got in late but it was worth it because we got somewhere around 21 pieces of relic! Ever piece dropped at least one, except for SMN which didn't drop at all, and I got the only piece that I really wanted (SAM hands). We also had some interesting pulls and a TON of free lot stuff. The unlotted BST relic in that pic actually dropped to me. Someone was told to lot it but they never did and no one else was told to so it just passed through the pool and ended up in my inventory...oh well, my mannequin likes it (he's a furry now).

On Wednesday (yes, I just went from Thursday to Wednesday) I was standing around waiting for Achi to log on so we could maybe do some KSNMs but he had school and wasn't going to be on till late. So, one of the people in the LS asked me if I would be interesting in coming on a salvage run. I've done salvage before and it was always with a large group of people and as such was very boring. We went in with a single party and I must say, I liked it much better than the larger group style. It seems like something a good group of people could do without a problem. Hell, a solid Nyzul Isle group could probably get anything they wanted out of Salvage. They go Monday, Wednesday, and Friday though. I have Nyzul on friday (which I won't miss as long as I can help it), I'm supposed to have Dynamis on Monday (I think I might just alternate or drop Dynamis on Monday for salvage). So, that leaves only Wednesday as free for me. Shouldn't be too bad though. I decided to go with Usukane pieces for my SAM as my lot over Ares Body for my PLD for 2 main reasons:

1) Everyone wants Ares and showing up 1-2 days/week as opposed to all the time means I'll be in dead last for the pieces.
2) It will cost somewhere around 10mil to get the items to make the Ares Body. I don't have 10mil. Hell, the Usukane feet (which is one of the 1 Usukane I want) are 1mil to make and I'd be hard pressed to make that much.

Then, Friday came! Hurray! Friday has become my favorite day of the week once more! When I went to school it was the favorite day but it's been a year since that ended so Friday became just another day to me. But now that I have Nyzul and 4 awesome pieces of gear to look forward to (Askar Feet, Hands, Body, and Helm) that could come to me almost as soon as they drop (with the exception of the Helm)!

We do 4 tag Nyzul and today we did a Feet, a Hands, a Body, and a Helm run.

We started with the Hands and it was an extremely smooth climb to the boss floor where we fought Hydra. We kicked his ass despite having trouble taking off his one head so he couldn't do Physical Shield. Thankfully he just spammed the magic shield instead so that was fine. We got Goliard hands. Damn! That's not Askar hands! Also, I had forgot to change my sub to /NIN so I was SAM/WAR the whole time. I don't feel it made much of a difference since the mobs during the climb are so weak they hardly even justify using shadows to avoid the damage and anything that is dangerous enough to warrent using shadows on just spams AoEs so it was pointless to try and keep them up. The only thing I had to be careful of was fighting Hydra. But all that meant was that I took my time on the fight instead of going all out from the beginning and then went all out halfway through and used a fanatics drink (1 minute invincible) when I took hate and was totally fine.

After that we did a Helm run which we got completely screwed on. We had to do ordered lamps, 2 specified enemies (one of which was puddings and they were located on the opposite ends of a HUGE floor), and then a floor which had 5 chariots on it! A 5 chariot floor takes a minimum of 10 minutes to do. When on a 30 minute time limit that just doesn't sit well. We got to the 99th floor and then exited there in order to get the tokens so it wouldn't have been a complete loss since we didn't have enough time to take a crack at the boss.

Third tag we did a Feet run. Went smooth, nothing over the top or crazy to report on this one. We fought Hydra again for this floor but he head came off quickly and we didn't have to worry about his physical shield at all and just crushed him. We ended up getting Goliard fet. Damn! That's not Askar feet!

Forth tag we did a Body run. The only reason we are doing Body runs at all is to get me my Askar body. Again, nothing worth noting about this climb. Everything went smoothly and we got to the boss without a problem. Boss was Fafnir this time around so it was nice to have a change! He was way easier than Hydra and we kicked his ass 12 ways from Sunday! We got a Goliard body drop. Da...wait! 3 piece of Goliard in 1 night of Nyzul? ... Damnit.

For those who are (me) keeping track:

Guy who joined on run I joined on: 4 pieces of gear from Nyzul.
Guy who joined on this run: 1 piece of gear from Nyzul.
Me: 0 pieces of gear from Nyzul.

Bah.

Oh well, it's not like I'm getting screwed out of lotting on things or they just aren't giving them to me or anything like that. It's simply because Askar pieces aren't dropping. I have pretty good luck in RL. That explains my horrible ingame luck I have.

My schedule is getting WAY too crowded. Especially considering I have school starting in September...

Sunday: Limbus/Sky. Entire day is taken up from 3pm-Midnight(ish).
Monday: Dynamis/Salvage. Dynamis would be from 8pm-Midnight(ish) or Salvage from 9pm-Midnight(ish).
Tuesday: Sky. Farming usually takes from 7pm-11pm(ish).
Wednesday: Salvage. From 7:30pm-9pm(ish).
Thursday: Dynamis. From 8pm-Midnight(ish).
Friday: Nyzul Isle. From 9pm-11pm(ish).
Saturday: ---------

I figure I'll probably end up dropping Dynamis rather soon. Or at least I won't go with any regularity. Since the shell is so big it doesn't seem to matter if I show up or not so I'll come and go as I please I figure. I know I won't really be able to lot too much that way but I already have what I want and I don't want to lock up 4hrs 2 nights/week for something I don't really have to do for any gear or anything like that. Same with Salvage. I might just go on Monday/Wednesday but I probably won't go both nights every week and I'll probably skip both nights every once and awhile. I won't ever drop Nyzul because it's on Friday so anything I need to do then can be pushed until Saturday without an issue. If things get really crazy at school I might need to drop a night of Sky. Hopefully that won't happen but it very well could, I don't know yet.

FFXI, Anime, RL, Internet

Lets go in order shall we?!

FFXI: So, I finally beat the last assault I hadn't completed, Belleraphon's Bliss. Managed to do it with a shout group that I randomly found on Monday morning. It was pretty cool because it was made up of alot of people that I had done it with before (and lost) but we managed to pull it out and finish him off. Was great! Now, captain has alot of nice little extra's!

1) I get free use of the runic portal. I still have to talk to the taru except the runic portal pass is free instead of 100 gil. Free sanction extra's almost feels like it should have been there but it's not, oh well.
2) A 4th assault tag at the commissions agency. Instead of holding a max of 3 Rytal can now hold 4 meaning I could do 5 assaults at once if it ever came down to it.
3) Free access to the undersea ruins. This is nice if maybe I have to enter it when the Astral Candy is gone or if I need to return from the Mamool camp @ the Greater Colibri camp without warp.
4) Bragging rights and a cool title.

Aside from that it's all I really got out of it. Not much but it feels like a great accomplishment because it's still one of the things that few people have really done and is still considered an accomplishment by a large portion of the community.

Thistle apparently has a fire ring ready made for me and it's signed to! Yay! Now, if only I had the amount of gil required to get it! XD I'm currently working on fixing that. I was running around last night looking for some farming and I settled on Lizards in Crawlers Nest because there was no competition and they explode in a shower of items every time you kill one of them. I've decided to add them to my list of place I can go to farm. I am try to have a large list since I hate dealing with competition so I can just have many options and goto the place where no one is at and just farm to my hearts content there. Achi has been trying to get us to do some BC/KSNMs and I have tons of both seals so hopefully we can get that done sometime next week (or maybe even tonight if ulti gets his account back?) for some more gil. I guess ~400k is a good target for me at this point because after that I will need to farm/obtain somewhere on the order of 2.6mil for my hagun. BAH! I wish they were still 1.2 mil like before sekkanoki was introduced ; ;

Anime: Was watching Avatar but I kinda lost interest at the beginning of Book 3. Everything was going well and there was alot of action and ass kicking and then they revert back to how it was at the beginning of the series when they are introducing all the characters. Baaaahhhhhhh. So boring and pointless, wish they would just have Aang learn Fire bending and then go fight the Fire Lord and get it over with. Although I like that Iroh buffed up in the jail cell and I hope he kicks some asses soon as well. Considering he's always been one of the people who knew the most in the anime and it's gonna be cool to see if he puts all that knowledge and experience to use and fries someone.

On a different note of anime I was flipping through some AMVs on youtube and came across an old friend. Hellsing. Vampire anime that was pretty crazy and had a very weird storyline overall (has maybe like 12 eps to it). I remember watching it a long time ago and always wished they had done a 2nd season for it or something. Well, in the AMV I had scene that there was animations and story archs that I hadn't witnessed and this got my interested. So, off to wikipedia I went. Apparently an OVA series called Hellsing Unlimited was created a few years back that consists of 4 episodes! *glee* This is the perfect excuse to go watch the regular episodes again and then watch the OVAs! YAY!

RL: So, in RL I am preparing for my trip to college. On Sunday I am heading out to residence with all my stuff where I will begin my adventures. It's times like these I really hate my parents' attitude about real life. They seem to have this thing that I HAVE to do openning week stuff at residence to get to know people and blah blah blah. I don't do stuff like that. I've never done stuff like that and I probably will never do stuff like that. My plan is: Goto college, play FFXI and prepare until first classes, find friends in classes that I like. As opposed to: Goto college, get drunk off my ass, get involved with idiots I don't like in order to drink more. That's my plan anyways >.>

I still have to do some cleaning in my room around here because, apparently, my room has to be PERFECTLY CLEAN when I leave, even though no one will use it between now and when I move out in 4 years after college...Oh well, hasn't been too bad so far.

Internet: Not much to talk about here, same old same old. Only thing notable was that the second assault episode with me in it is out. We did PFC and it's about 25 minutes long. Wasn't much to discuss since PFC is the, more or less, kill everything rank where there isn't much strategy just alot of death.

So SE has released information on the Tidal Talisman! Here is the info on it:

Product name Tidal Talisman
Pendant material Silver-plated metal
Strap material Synthetic leather
Pendant size Length 2.5” (64mm)
Width 0.65” (16.5mm)
Strap length Approximately 35” (90cm)

It also includes an ingame item (it's a body piece) that allows you to go from Bastok > Jeuno, Windy > Jeuno, Sandy > Jeuno, Selbina > Mhaura, and Whitegate > Nashmau. It depends on which zone you use it in. Great for getting around I would imagine, depending on the recast of the effect. Here is the kicker though, you can only order it before September 1st at 6pm (I will assume PST). Wanna know the cost?

$42.99!!!!!!!

Holy shit! 42 bucks for some half assed little pendant? If it was more than just silver plated and was real leather instead of synthetic I would think about paying that price but it's this little half assed pendant. The item isn't even really worth it. I hope the other items that become available are less of a cash grab on SEs part...

How long is too long?

Durrrr
For those who have been keeping up you'll probably know what that title means this post will be about. For those who don't know about this I will explain. Recently, a linkshell, ironically named, Beyond The Limits attempted to down Pandemonium Warden. This linkshell is one of the few to have legitimately taken down Absolute Virtue so they are at the tip of the top of the endgame scene as far as I am concerned. Anyways, they fought him for 18 straight hours before finally giving up on him because their members were becoming physically ill and/or passing out so they called it quits instead of trying to force on considering they were on, what could very well have been, the final form of Pandemonium Warden.

This has caused a pretty nice ripple in gaming news sites as well as on forums and everything related to FFXI and I'm getting so annoyed that I will finally voice my opinion on the fight. I enjoy the fact that there are mobs in the game that are so ridiculous that they are damned near undefeatable. A rag-tag bunch of adventurers shouldn't be able to reasonable defeat gods and all mighty spirits but we can. So the idea that the best of the best were defeated by this mob is great in my opinion. It humbles players and gives an option to the most hardcore of hardcore groups. People are arguing that SE says they don't want us to forget that we have social lives with their message that greats us when we try to log into game and yet they release things like this and expect us to kill them.

Ummm...no? Last I checked you didn't HAVE to fight Pandemonium Warden. Hell, you don't have to do ANYTHING because this is a GAME. If you feel that you absolutely must be able to beat Pandemonium Warden then you better get used to lack of sleep and hope you have an LS nuts enough to try and take him down. Also if you are one of those people that feel you have to fight PW I would suggest taking the message that SE greats you with to heart instead of just quoting it when you can't get your precious drops from unbeatable death mob.

Aside from that it could be an incredible attempt by SE to bring the many nationalities that play this game together. Sure, an NA group might only be able to spend, say, 6 hours reasonably fighting PW. Lets say that goes from 7pm till 1am and then they all get ready to log off. THEN! You have another group, a group who might be on another side of the world. Say, for example, a JP group of your linkshell. Come and takeover while you guys log off to goto sleep. The JP group will work on PW for 6 hours until around 7am and then another group could take over. Say, an EU group! From there they can take it for 6 more hours and then, come 1pm the original group will be awake from their nap and ready to be on in case the EU group went overtime and need help finishing off the mob. The only people who might be a little warked on the drops would be your JP team but hopefully they would be able to have some people on to get their drops if something for them dropped. Of course you could alter this around to have any 1 group start the battle but it would be interesting to see in the end.

Of course it would require us to get over our NAvsEUvsJP attitudes but if someone where to set it up then it would be a testament to how MMO's bring large groups of people from all over the world together. Instead of how it just keeps large groups up for ungodly amounts of time, separate from others.

Wow. Tuesday? Went to sleep early during ZNMs, we did pretty good for the first night. Not many people but it worked out well in the end anyways. Other than that not much to mention.

Wednesday morning? Wake up. Ulti got hacked...

...
...
...

Shit.

Well...ummm. Ulti is going through all the proper channels to get his account back to how it's supposed to be. Apparently the GMs have been very useful today. Contact was made by windshire to at least 2 different GMs and they were very nice GMs apparently. It should be a little bit before Ulti can get his character back. Aside from that the only thing I really didn't like was the guy who had bought the pop items Ulti had been carrying. He was moved to Cait Sith and apparently met up with the guy who bought the pop items from a GM. When Ulti asked for them back the guys wanted to know if he could get his money back. That's totally fine, I would probably ask for the same thing since I did spend the money to buy them and might not have known it was a hacked account. But then after Ulti explained it to him he started saying things like: "Oh you guys must have worked pretty hard for these." and shit like that. Not giving the items back? Fine, we can deal, we have like a bajillion of the things and it's more of an annoyance to us. Being a dick about it and trying to shank money out of someone who just got hacked? Burn in hell asshole. We have his name. I hope he ends up on midgar standing infront of the white gate MH in a few RA/EX pieces completely broke and minus pop items. I would love for the flow of the universe to allow us to go in full circle like that.

Asides from that it means we probably won't be doing our ToAU 44 attempt on Thursday. That sucks, I was hoping to finish it off this week but I guess it means I'll have to wait till next week! Bah. Funny how annoyed I am by that and I'm just helping. Bah! Want kill Alexander prz! This does mean that I can goto Dynamis-Bastok though. Yay? Well, if I get lucky we will get a bunch of SAM Relic hands! At least enough to get them to drop in my inventory is enough. That piece would be awesome.

Aside from that I've been watching Avatar. I'm on Book 2 Chapter...ummmmm 12. Poor Oppa ; ; Also, berserk Ang = run away o.O It's been pretty good so far. IMO the parts that are actually about the Avatar is just filler for the Zuko chapters! Also, lightning bending is hacks. And Zuko attempting to be struck by lightning is just like BWA? It has some great lines in it as well, for example!

"She's my sister and I need to get along with her." "No, she's crazy. She needs to go down."
...
"You sure are cute. But...unfortunately for you, you are made of meat!"

Porting DAT mods between races...

  • Aug. 14th, 2008 at 1:15 AM
Durrrr
Well, recently I learned how to port FFXI DAT mods from one race to another. Specifically, the weapons! I'm still trying to figure out how transfering armor works because that's a tad more complicated but follows the same basic strategy. Anyways! In order to port a weapon from one race to another (you can't just use DATs across races it doesn't work) you need to know the "weight" that the weapon is put to. Basically the weight will determine which skeleton (like you hand skeleton) the weapon will be atatched to and the game finds that, and then uses the right animations for the weapon. Currently the way I port goes like this:

-Load skeleton of race weapon is designed for with weapon.
-Find correct skeletal weight.
-Load skeleton of race I want to port to with weapon I want to be overwritten.
-Take weapon from the original race and drag it to the new race.
-Delete old weapon off new race.
-Delete original race skeleton out of the window.
-Figure out right skeletal weight the new race needs.
-Change the skeletal weight on the weapon to whatever it should be for the new race.
-Save and be done.

However! I realized that this could easily be altered and made to cut out a couple steps! If I go through all the weapons for every class and write down the correct skeletal weights for those weapons I can have the port go like this:

-Change .DAT file for the new race of a weapon to the weapon itself.
-Load skeleton of new race with the new weapon (which has the wrong skeletal weight).
-Change the skeletal weight of the weapon to whatever it should be (based on my list).
-Save and be done.

It would pretty much half my work right there! I just tried it and it worked very well! I actually stumble across this accidentally because I made a mistake and replaced the wrong race DATs but it still works! Hurray!

Was rather a Durrrr moment for me and hence the new Durrrr icon. Next step, learn how to port armour correctly o.O

The Return To Dynamis!

  • Aug. 12th, 2008 at 1:34 AM
SAM
So, I decided to go back to doing dynamis...wonder how long it will last this time?

I decided to go with the same shell that one of my WHM friends from sky (Divinius) goes with since it's better to have friends in ventrilo I can talk to during it then spending like 4 hours by myself losing XP doing dynamis. Achika also decided to come on the run with us and joined as well (don't know how long it will last for him) and there are apparently other people that are on ventrilo that are thinking of joining the same group since they are looking for members and don't really have any criteria it would seem. The more the marrier! I couldn't imagine doing dynamis without having anyone I knew around, would be so freaking boring!

So I decided to go on their run they had tonight (monday night) and see how it went. They go monday and thursdays (don't worry thistle I'm still coming to help on ToAU 44, prior arrangements > all) at like 7-8ish. It's a nice time for me because by them I've certainly completed eating dinner and I can still have some time at the end of the night to watch TV/troll the internet and what not. We did Xarcabard tonight. The one main zone (CoP zones not included) I did not have clearance on so that was nice. I had never even done a Dynamis-Xarca before (having left my last dyna shell a couple weeks after getting Beauc clearance) so it was a new experience for me. It also was nice since we were going for the clear instead of just like killing Animated weapons or something like that.

It was one of those funny nights when stuff goes horribly wrong and there was a bunch of new people there and everyone kept saying, you know, "This isn't how it usually goes.", "We don't usually have problems like this." So on and so forth. I died at the one camp we were at with a bunch of other people and when everyone getting raised I got a tell from one of the WHMs. Went something like: "I'm so sorry! ; ;" I was fairly confused by this. After a couple tells back and forth I managed to figure out that they were sorry because they had started R3ing me and thought someone else was so they stopped. That logic scared the hell outta me considering I would have been lucky to get an R3 at all since in every dynamis I've done it's always: "R3 anyone who delevels and everyone else gets 1's and 2's."

After a little running we finally got to Ying and Yang (Dynamis Lord's pet dragons) and finished them off without a problem. After a little waiting, because people had to switch to bard and run all the way back in so we could zerg DL, we finally pulled Dynamis Lord. There were 2 alliances at the time. The first was mainly consistent of new people and heavy DD's (we assume so the new people could get the title from killing DL) and second was consistent of all the mages, a THF, and another SAM. I proceeded to tell everyone on ventrilo that I was going to get the kill shot on DL so that our alliance would get the title (whichever group of people get the kill shot on TL get a Lifter of Shadows title) and the others wouldn't since I wanted it! Of course, everyone doubted I would do it. Well, I think this says it all.

I think most of the things they said in Linkshell were because of his drops and that we didn't get any shadow pieces. They might be at me but I doubt it. Never doubt a galka SAM...or at least don't ever doubt Veloxe!

Near the very end of the run apparently it was determined a good idea to give Animated Shield a try! I was all for this since I've never seen an animated weapon before and Aegis is just awesome. However I didn't know that he came with lots of friends too...They also have this INCREDIBLE AoE shield bash that did like 600 damage. To everyone. As you can see alot of HP is falling in the picture. By the time I realized what had happened 3/4 of my PT was dead on the ground. I proceeded to go hang out behind a rock to avoid the XP loss and was one of about 3 survivors by he end of the pull. It was one of those things you can certainly laugh about later on! I like the last line in the chat buffer as well. "What's that? You want to fight me huh? *bam!*"

I'll probably hang around Dynamis for awhile. It's weird though cause I really only want 2 pieces and there is a 3rd that would be nice but isn't really too much better then what I already have. The first is the SAM relic hands. An extra 20-40 TP on meditate? Yes please! Means if I get lucky I could get to 300% TP off only 2 meditates. That's incredible. The 2nd is Valor Cape. This is by far the best cape for PLD currently in the game. Gigant Mantle? Nice, not many stats other than HP though. Lamia Mantle? ...*punch* They all fall flat on their faces when compared to the Valor Cape! The 3rd piece, which isn't all too great for me, is the SAM Belt. It's got less straight ACC than the Potent Belt but it has DEX which, that's to 2 handed update, makes it have more ACC and the DEX would help with crit rate and such. If I did SAM/RNG I'm sure I'd be ape shit about it. But I don't so it's only an OK improvement for me.

Aside from that not much going on. Tomorrow is Windshire's first ZNM night so one of 2 things will happen. A) It will go off perfectly without a hitch and everything will be good. B) It will implode and will be much more interesting overall, except for when Achi inevitable snaps because of the implosion (Let the other leaders help achi! Stop putting so much pressure on yourself ; ; preaze?).

As one final special note which has been caused by Thistle! This is from a time long ago when I used to RP alot. It's a picture of the main character I would use in all my RPs and is, inevitably, me. Since I RP as my own personality he is like a version of myself in personality, although he certainly doesn't look like me (I'm much sexier). It's originally a picture of a Fire Emblem character I believe but I realized it was very close to my mental image of the character so I just changed the colours in photoshop! So, let me present to you, Analil Duldris! In fact, upon playing Super Smash Brothers Brawl I have come to realize that it is Ike! Huh, he's my character on SSBB I use as well. That's certainly interesting...

Oh FFS!

Oh farming, faith, and synthing!

Well, as one Thistle had repramanded me on buying all my materials for my alchemy work from the AH and not farming them I figured I might as well try to go and do some farming. At first I thought I would go obliterate Bee's for the chips so that I could work to 29 off of silent oils still since that synth wouldn't require any Slime Oil so it's cost would be less. After the like 10th bee with a chip I said, "Screw this!" and left. I decided that I would instead goto the lair of the shadowlord and obliterate eyes in the Keep in order to get the tears so that I could go to 29 on eye drops instead. The drop rate was much better. Probably about 33% as a PLD/THF. Apparently you can steal tears from them as well but in the 3 hours I was up there I never got a single tear from steals. Oh well. Ended up with like a stack and a half in those 3 hours. I have horrible luck with farming drops. Someone could go out and do the exact same things I do time and time again and always end up with like 12 times more drops than me...

I also took my NPC out there to help and she ended up getting a level. So she's at 54 now so I should go do her next limit break quest so I don't have to worry about her capping out or anything. I suppose I should go back to that NPC points guy they added and see if he has anything worth the points I currently have.

Last night we were trying to setup a group to do the last assault I need for captain rank (Bellerophone's Bliss) and we were having a hard time finding a 6th DD member. So, I decided to see if I could contact God for help!

Hope they are around today...

Hmmm...they appear to be in vengeful wraith mode, better leave them be for now.

So, I'm finished my farming and I'm currently in the process of making eye drops in order to get my alchemy to 29. I'm at 28 right now (up 3 levels from 25) and I'm doing pretty well with it. Got 2 stacks of ingredients left still. I might as well aim for the eye drop cap at 30 if I can get it off what I currently have but 29 is my bare minimum I want to get to. I seem to be getting a rather large number of breaks but I'm at least skilling on 90% of them so it's not too bad.

Once that's done I probably won't start doing bast parchments until like Wednesday. Because tonight I'm recording the 2nd episode of the Assault show for LBR where we are going to cover PFC and then I have static group with achi and a bunch of other windshire people for sub jobs (my NIN is gimping it's way through with them) and that will probably last till way late at night. Then, from there I have work tomorrow from 8-5 so I have to goto sleep early and then events all sunday night. Not sure what I'm doing on monday...I suppose I could always do the prep work for Shihei mass creation on sunday night and then just go ape shit on monday. That sounds like a good plan to me. I gotta do the math sometime to figure out exactly how to maximize my profit. Shouldn't be too hard.

Home Sweet Home...

Alt Post Title: Wait...what?! HUH!?!

Windurst Storyline Overview (Spoilarzzz) )

So! With the completion of Windy missions I now have all 3 nation flags. As such, it caused a DRASTIC shift in my mog houses layout. I had this planned for awhile it just took awhile to implement it was all and now it has been completed! You also get pics! If you haven't seen my MH then you won't really notice the differences but if you have then you will notice just how much I changed. Also, I've decided to finally switch over to photobucket full time. I used imageshack for the longest time but it's been way to inconsistent, laggy, and buggy recently. I imagine that it's because they are doing a premium thing and that works fine but the free version has glitches they don't care to fix, or something like that.

Entire Left Side of Mog House

I really like this idea of mine. I hope SE released more nation specific plants so that I can make it even more nation specific. I don't plan to get any more mannequins or aketons to round of the image at all because that would cost too much. Although if I ever go crazy with gil you never know what might happen.

The Snowmen Guard the Mog House

I loved my snowmen. They guard my MH and keep out intruders! The galka mann. used to be in between the Sandy and Bastok snowmen but it feels much more open now and I think it looks a little better to.

Taru Snowman Warms by Fire

Probably my favourite part of the MH. I know every time I have people in it they mention the suicidal taru snowman. Putting him in front of my fireplace like this was a moment of sheer brilliance I think.

The Sleep Quarters

I always liked the way this got setup. Just enough space to walk in between the partition and the windurst hammock and it even looks good! The event wall painting also makes it look a tad bit better than when the sandy nation flag was above the bed.

Misc. Item Tables

My misc. item tables! I love these things! I'm such a sucker for event items I can't help but collect them all. All 7 eggs from SE eggstraaaavaganza! The 3 assorted christmas items (dream platter, sock, and box) from the Christmas events. The bonbori and festival dolls from the doll festival event. And then, finally, my 3 VCS chocobo plates. From left to right: Majesty Veloce! My first chocobo, before colours so he was yellow. Fuchs Ninja! My third chocobo, originally was planned to be a good chocobo that I would get to higher STR and END but that got kicked in the head sometime before he hit adolesance and I forgot he existed. As such, he died his feathers black and started writting poetry and posting on myspace. Lady Veloce! My second chocobo and daughter of Majesty Veloce. Probably my favourite chocobo. They introduced colours of chocobo in the update that hit a few days before she became a teenager and when she did she had the green feathers! I'm sure she wasn't the first green chocobo but she was probably damned close.

And that's the mog house! Hopefully more random event items will come for placement in my MH soon. Also, I'm hopping for a Jeuno flag from WotG missions so that I might be able to round off my flag collection!

That's more or less it for now. I need to figure out what my next in-game venture will be. Kinda running out of stuff to do now...

The road to gil is paved in blood...

And more gil.

So I'm trying, really hard like, to get my alchemy to at least 29 so that I can use my woodworking in order to make bast parchment and either just straight sell that or use it to make shihei and sell that. I managed to get alchemy to 18 a little bit ago and recently I've been working my way up to 24 on silent oils (I'm like 23.6 so I think I'll move on now). The only problem I'm having is my low amount of overall gil. Earlier today I was sitting at 120k and then I went about buying enough materials in order to power through about 5 stacks of crystals. After buying all the stuff I needed, going to bastok (don't know why I went there I didn't even use synth support), coming back to whitegate and putting 7 on the AH was down to 333gil.

Now I've got a ton of silent oils burning (dripping more likely) a hole in my gobbie bag and the ones on the AH aren't selling fast enough even though I'm undercutting since I don't feel like fighting the high level alchemists in a price war. So, I'm just going to lose that little extra gil for my skillups. I figure after all is said and done and I finish selling them all I'll have somewhere around 100k so I only lost like 20k for about 4 levels of skillups. That's pretty good.

Now I need to figure out what to do next! Here are my options:

Silent Oils
-Beeswax x2
-Olive Oil
-Cap 29

Eye Drops
-Ahriman Tears
-Chamomile
-Distilled Water
-Cap 29

There are other options involving taking something with a lower cap (like 28) up and then just gaining any further skillups off bast parchments while attempting to make gil but that doesn't work for making gil I think. I might just do Silent Oils but there is something making me think otherwise right now...

Currently the silent oil market has been turned to shit. The person who turned it to shit and will not be named, name is scum by the way (seriously) is a level 1 bastokan galka who, I assume is someone with more gil than brains attempting to power through alchemy (As evident by their recent purchases), of course they will not be named...scum.

ANYWAYS! Silent Oils before...someone...showed up were fluctuating between 6.5-7k. So, I think that going to like 6.4k on my undercuts would be reasonable would you not think so? Well, I put them up there and I'm sitting waiting for them to sell. Did I mention I only had 333gil at the time? So I'm waiting, waiting, waiting, and they aren't selling. Weird, I slightly undercut so they should be selling. Oh well, maybe someone slightly undercut before me. I go and do some assaults, come back, still haven't sold. Ok...this is weird. Better check FFXIah to see what's up.

Wait...what's this...OMFG! THIS ASSHOLE! He's undercut to 5k! 5 fucking k! Ok, 6.4k, fair, 6.1-6.2k, good enough. 6k? Getting a little low on the undercutting but I can see it being fine still. 5k?!? That's just plain ignorance, impatience, and assholence rolled up into one ball. So now the silent oil market is gonna be shit for a little while until the people who use silent oils for gil come back on and fix this transgression against Altana. I might just hold onto my silent oils until then. I am not gonna play to his game. Screw that.

First, you take my day off I got today so that you could do a 7 hour maint. Fine! I can deal with it. I get on at 7pm ready to play and what do I get greated with? "Oh, we're going to extend the maint. by 3 hours." ...

Now, I'm not the greatest at setting goals for myself and even worse at keeping them but when you have hundreds of thousands of customers all over the world who are waiting to log into your service when a maint. was scheduled to end you better damn well end at the time.

The extension is bullshit and will probably result in me not obtaining Windurst 10 tonight because I can't stay up too too late. Thanks a bunch SE.

Everything will work out in the end.

90% of this post condensed into a single picture!

I don't believe that things are destined to happened. I don't like the idea that I'm not in control of my own life and my own will. Bust sometimes a sequence of events occurs that is out of the ordinary and causes perfect results and makes me wonder if it was planned...

So I finished my day at 3am doing Windy missions and went to sleep. I woke up at 6am and then went to work at 7:30 and worked a 9 hour shift and got home around 5:30pm. Logged in game and headed to Windurst to finish windy 8-1 and at least start 8-2. When I zoned into Windy I was watching stuff on youtube and noticed that I almost fell asleep twice while trying to pay attention. So I decided the best thing for me to do would be to go and take a nap so I informed achi I would be late for sky and that if I didn't show up by 8:30pm to not count on me cause I probably wouldn't wake up till 2am because I probably slept straight through my alarm.

Woke up around midnight and logged on. Ok, I missed sky. It happens, but at least I did the right thing and let the leaders know I wouldn't be there and had a good reason. Apparently I missed some nice drama during sky because from the sounds of talking to people Achi was a bit angry and there was some box-talk going on so something happened again. Anyways!

So, things that have happened that I normally don't let happen:

-Stayed up way too late on a work night.
-Slept through my alarm.
-Missed sky while I wasn't at work.

Ok, so maybe it was just a weird day or something. I mean, it doesn't mean anything! So I check the GP item for today and it's a Bureau. One Bureau would get my 7k GP which is almost exactly what I need in order to get my Carpenter's Gloves. Well. There are none up on the AH and I can't make them because they are like 6 levels higher than my current skill and require a 41 smithing sub. So I went off and did some alchemy stuff in hopes of getting it to 29 so that I can make bast parchment to make NIN tools to, eventually and hopefully, make gil.

So, now I have my whack load of silent oils made from my alchemy (only got like 2 levels! Bah) and I go back to whitegate and instead of hitting Medicines I accidentally hit furnishings and decide I might as well check and one Bureau has come up on the AH! BUY BUY BUY! I then put up my oils and headed to Sandy with a spring in my step and a Bureau on my back. Trade it in, get mah points, and obtain my gloves! This is the first equipment I have ever gotten from crafting. Despite having 95 cooking at one point I was never able to obtain a skill item because cooking GP sucks really badly so I gave up on it.

So, odd things that have happened:

-Stayed up way too late on a work night.
-Slept through my alarm.
-Missed sky while I wasn't at work.
-Item for GP would give me just enough to get my hands and I can't make it and none on AH.
-Go do alchemy for the hell of it and spent lots of gil to do so.
-'Accidentally' hit furniture instead of medicines while attempting to sell my silent oils.
-Barely had enough gil to get the 1 Bureau on the AH in order to obtain my hands!

I think that's a bit more than just random chance...

The galka who would rule the taru...

So, yesterday I had the day off and we ended up doing Windurst 6-1 through 8-1. This cause me to get like 3 hours of sleep and I'm leaving for work in like 2 minutes (whoops! hehe). Now I can confirm what I had always thought about the missions but was unable to confirm before:

Sandy- Short missions, incredible storyline, only 2 really annoying missions.
Bastok- Lots of fights in the missions, crappy storyline, EMO-HUME GO!
Windurst- Rivals CoP in running around, great storyline, sooooo much running!

Seriously this shit is crazy. It's bad enough that the town itself is huge making the pre-mission prep that much harder because there is so much running around but then it sends us to like Full Moon fountain (a good 20 minute run) and off to like Ro'Meave and then to Davoi! Windurst, we are at piece with the yags but those orc bastards need to die! That was a weird mission...And 8-2 is ridiculous!

We have to goto:

* Apururu - Manustery Ring (Manustery. Windurst Woods - received upon first conversation/cutscene)
* Tosuka-Porika - Optistery Ring (Optistery, Windurst Waters north)
* Sedal-Godjal - Aurastery Ring (J-8, Davoi)
* Rukususu - Rhinostery Ring (F-6, Lower level of Fei'Yin)

THEN! We need to go back to windy and run around for a bit. THEN we need to goto somewhere in outer horototo. Then back to windy and run around between 2 NPCs for a bit. Then we need to goto the 3 mage door, then back to windy for more running around between the 2 NPCs...damn it feels like there should be a Rajas ring at the end of this because it rivals the final running around you have to do for CoP o.O

On 8-1 we had to defeat Dirtyhanded Gochakzuk and we met up with some other people who needed a couple wands so we teamed up and fought one after we raised a couple of them and waited for more. We grabbed those 2 wands and waited for repop. When it repopped we did:

Tachi: Kasha > Asuran Fists > Tachi: Gekko

And created a darkness that alone did like 1.4k and killed the mob before the one RDM we teamed up with that had TP could weaponskill and then the poor BLM couldn't even get his burst 2 off. We just wish we could have seen their LS chat at the time because the only real response we got from them was: "......."

After he respawned the third (and final needed time) we did:

Tachi: Gekko > Tachi: Kasha > Dragon Kick

And created a light for fun. It apparently didn't do as much as our first darkness but it was more for fun than anything else. That was pretty much how we ended the night.

Windshire, we're not showing off! That was totally necessary!
simple, Base, overall
Worst even name ever by the way! Firstly! If you plan to do the event quickly to get it out of the way then be prepared to witness the other 30+ people in each town doing the same thing and being too inconsiderate to use /cheer motion. Bastards... However I offer you the best solution if you do this event!

Config > Chat Filters > Emotes > Off

Problem = Solved!

I'll probably wait a bit and do the event in a day or two after everyone is done spamming it to death.

Crafting side note:

63,283/70,000

Getting closer. Tomorrow is going to be a craftsman synth so that shouldn't be too bad but after that it'll be an artisan one and unless I get someone I can purchase cheaply on the AH I probably will have to skip that. So close...

Busy...so very busy!

GAH! The last couple days have been so weird for me.

Monday: Can't even remember what I did during the day and went to work from 5-10 and came home and can't remember what I did...All I remember is it felt like I was busy but I think all I really did was watch Shaman King! I wish I could remember what happened on Monday...

Tuesday: Did NIN/BRD in campaign (got mpked 2 times but my HP is in Sth. Sandy of the past so jokes on them) and got it to 21 and like 1/2. Really slow but it beats standing around in my MH watching my moogle spinning and I could watch Shaman King while doing it! Went to sea, we tried JoF (Faith) and got into some trouble. There are a couple reasons I figured we didn't win it. I'll bring them up to leaders later but I'm pretty sure they already know most of them. Ended up giving it to VS instead of just continually wiping. Instead we got to watch them wipe to it for about 30 minutes before they could amass enough BLMs to nuke it to death. They kept sending tells to some of our members telling us that it usually isn't that hard. I think they were a tad embarassed to be getting their asses handed to them by a low tier jailer. They did give us an HQ euvhi in exchange for the NM (despite the fact that they could have just...taken it for free) and ended up only getting the weapon which they ended up giving to achi anyways...it felt like kinda a wasted night but we learned some things.

After that we did some ZNMs. Specifically 1 of the Wulgaru's (t2) I wanted to do. Which we totally ended up getting the helm I wanted to get from it. I had like a golden touch for ZNM drops it seems...wonder how long that luck will hold. And we did one for Ulti on the way to getting his RDM some new boots. Cheese Horder Asstardaroon (close enough). This guy is a jerk! He almost wiped us before I we figured out how to finish him off easily. Thank god for fast pants and fast thinking o.O

Wednesday: Jack all...did 4-1, more NIN/BRD, work, then 5-1. It all went by too fast...so it didn't feel like much.

Today!: 9 hour shift (joy...) and then I get home for Alexander fight, and then after that possibly a shot at 5-2 and MAYBE 6-1? Then I don't know...probably more NIN/BRD + Shaman King or seeking on SAM + Campaign I haven't decided yet...

At least I feel busy even though I might not be.

The Dark Knight, a review.

Proto-Ultima didn't happen again this week (not that surprising) and sky barely happened from what I saw. There was tons of discussion in vent over how to rectify the problem and stuff about how we schedule an event before hand and blah blah blah. In my opinion we pretty much danced around the main issue all night despite my many, many, many, attempts to bring it up in conversation. WE NEED MORE MEMBERS! It doesn't matter how we schedule events, it doesn't matter how we plan ahead or what we change in our system. If we can only get ~12 people to show up at the beginning of sky and MAYBE 18 by the time the night ends there is no point to anything fancy we do with scheduling.

The only problem is how do we get new members? I mean, I know we won't shout for members because that will show weakness (somehow) and we have pretty much 0 rep on any forums that have a vast majority of midgardsormr members (LBR has 2 active ones, I'm one of them). That's part of what I was hoping would get discussed last night but it never happened unfortunately.

It also sucks that we are in this middle zone between Sky and Sea. I mean, people want things from sky still but like 90% of those people are, "I want Z.Mitts from Genbu" (our second rarest drop), "I want Shura Helm from Seiryu" (our rarest drop, got one last night thankfully), "I want Byakko's Haidate" (list is huge), and finally, "I want XXX Kirin drop." If it's not one of those things it's at the point where they are either going free lot or are ready to fall to the ground. Hell, I have every zenith abjuration except for hands and adaman feet... It feels like such a waste when we only have 1 item on a drop list that we're aiming for and everything else is crap, makes it feel like we wasted a pop set.

Anyways, did a Seiryu, a Suzaku, and a couple Genbu last night. The only high point of the night was the Shura Helm as far as I could see because Blutig got that and if he is just getting it now it shows how rare the drops are for us cause he has pretty much every other piece from sky...

If it weren't for the fact that we could out claim and take down pretty much every pop NM in sky with a single PT I'd say we are on the verge of losing our self proclaimed, "Rulers of sky (on Sunday and Tuesday nights)" title. Kinda sad that if we eventually move onto Sea for a majority of our time there will be like no one fit to leave that title to. Hell, who are we supposed to leave the keys to the "spawn despot" button?

After Ultima was canceled but before sky something incredible happened! I made a suggest (which I assumed would get the usually, "Crazy vel" response) that actually ended up with a lot of good responses instead! After we finished sky we went and did some of the ZNMs on our ZNM checklist that we needed to finish but we were holding off until our first official ZNM night. We started the night with my request of 2x Chigre. Mainly for the blood ring but also so I could have 2 shots at the 2nd tier Wulgaru for the helm I want for TPing on my SAM.

Did that, met up with, to my knowledge, one of the few ZNM linkshells out there and we teamed up (they only had a PT and we had like 2/3 of an alliance) and kicked Chigre's butt. We went first and I got all drops, grabbed my blood ring (hurray!) and my Trophy item and went back to the old guy, traded in my trophy item and grabbed another pop and headed back. The ZNM linkshell people were also going for a blood ring but they just couldn't get the drop. When I got back for my final pop I had said that if we got the blood ring I wouldn't mind if we gave it to them (since the way we do it if you pop you get the trophy + 1 item of your choice so you can do anything with that 1 item pretty much). Also, they didn't want their trophy item one time so we stole that from them, free upgrade to Tier 2 hurray!

After that we did Ob. We had our single PUP in the LS come out and did him with 1 PT (hell could have done like PLD, RDM, PUP and killed it no problem, would have taken awhile though). We kept him on the Valoredge form but he has a straight up 50% damage resistance from what I could tell so that slowed us down. I parsed it and figured he also has like 15,000HP in that form. That's a lot! Got the PUP earring that increases the potency of repair or something like that. Not what we wanted but from the looks of it those are like <10% drop rate so we will be doing a lot of Obs I think. Was hopping to take that PT and give the Tier 2 I wanted a shot but it was midnight and achi was tired and I didn't want to try it with 5 people so I'll just wait then. Maybe get some more Zeni, do some research, and request something from another path. Or just go for a tier 3 request.

I am trying to make my next decision on Jobs. My idea is this: level a Tank, level a DD, level a support, level a mage (perhaps a Pet job like DRG, PUP, or BST too). My reasoning was always to attain a different level of thinking from the norm of people. I mean this, there is a bunch of groups you can put people in by how they level! There is the single job (was my group), they level 1 job and stick with that job for a long long long time and it becomes their main and is geared to hell and back. The mage job, they level ONLY mage jobs, you see them with WHM, BLM, RDM, and SCH all at 75 without a melee job in sight because they like being a mage. The DD job, probably the biggest group, they have things like SAM, WAR, MNK, DRG, DRK, and so on leveled to 75 without anything else in sight. Then there is the everyone people, they just level everything in sight more or less.

By level one of every job class I am attempting to gain a greater understanding of how this game works and what I can do to better my main (PLD). Having had SAM hit 75 I have learned alot about the mindset of a DD and what DDs do wrong and how, if at all, a PLD can counter that or get the DD to act the way they want. For example, many really powerful DD buffs are on 5 minute timers. So, if you just can manage to trick all your DDs into using those abilities at a similar time you can just sentinel through it all. It also gives me a bit more of an inkling into hate levels with damage and how to either curb a melee's hate generation or increase it.

I hope to gain similar knowledge by leveling other job groups as well. But I still have much to learn from SAM as it goes up. I probably won't start my 3rd 75 for awhile (maybe about a year) so that gives my SAM plenty of time to buff up.

One last thing, they are going to adjust /BRD in campaign in September apparently. I want to get my NIN through on the /BRD tredmill before this happens (I don't want to PT it at all, I hate idiots, I hate NIN, it's bound to just piss me off and take longer than /BRD) so what was the trick again? Anyone know? I remember it was /BRD, sing X number of songs, wait 5 minutes, turn in tags, rinse repeat. Right? Or am I off? I might also use this to finish the last 2k of my THF sub to 37 since there is no point in completely regearing it for 2k. I guess I could use EXP scrolls for that though.

Also, I went to go see the Dark Knight yesterday! It was pretty good, I have some problems with some things in it but I'll get into that in a seperate review post that will be up late tonight or tomorrow sometime.
